Robert Cox is a committed Christian, Artist, and Teacher.

In the beginning of 2006 when he retired, he felt God was prompting him to begin work on a set of  66, A2 Linocuts; one for every chapter of Isaiah. In these uncertain days, we have a lot to learn from  the mystery’s held in this hard to understand book in the Bible. Isaiah is very visual, much like the Psalms & Revelation full of Apocalyptic images  He hopes the prints he has created are more than just illustrations, touching the hearts and minds of the viewer, feeding and helping the viewer to understand Gods mystery and  plan for the whole of mankind through visual images.

This Exhibition consists of 28 of the 66 prints bringing out the main message  of Isaiah.

Before the finished lino prints, full working drawings were done for reference from which to work.

He prints one or two colours at a time, rolling up different parts of the lino block or on other occasions using  two or three blocks, overlapping  and making different colours which can result in  making an extra third or fourth  colour.

At the beginning of every day Robert will spend time reading his Bible and praying for God’s guidance and inspiration.

He has a studio at his home and a press which he uses to print his work.

Robert was brought up in Exeter attending Exeter School of Art in the 60s gaining a Fine Art Degree then went on to Bristol University were he gained the Art Teachers Diploma, gaining a distinction in ‘the practice of teaching.’

He taught both in the state and public sector for 37 years. He ended his teaching life as head of department at Bedford Modern School. Bedford.
